This term has started off really well.  Last week students were introduced to the integrated inquiry topic, discovering our local bush - Te Urewera.  They are familiarising themselves with forms of poetry and have just completed STAR testing.

This week permission slips to attend our two night stay over at the Lions Hut will go out to families.  I will include information about the cost and two day's activities.  An afternoon meeting for those who want to attend and/or know more about our camp is yet to be finalised.

The middle and senior classes will be complete AsTTle testing for Reading and Maths over the next two week's.  It's busy, busy. busy!  As you may know reports are also due out at the end of this term.  - Whaea Jeanette

Hi Room 6 - Its 'Mr B' here I hope you still remember me ? I am finally back at school next week after my study Sabbatical which has been a fantastic learning experience. I want to thank you all for keeping me so well informed about what is happening in your class through your weebly. Your trip into the Lions Hut in Te Uruwera sounds as if it is going to be another great experience. Keep up the great work and remember your 'Whakaaro Pai' approach to your learning here at Edgecumbe. - Cheers

Kia Ora Mr Brebner

Thank you very much for your comments. Of course we still remember you and we look forward to having you back next week. We've been creating pinch pot clay birds in our class over the last few days. We have also just finished High Jump and can't wait for athletics. See you soon.

Hi Room6.
What's going on? Are you excited about the end of school? Jarrod certainly is. He can't wait to eat every pizza in the world. Katera can't wait to go swimming and hang with all of his mates.
Hope everyone has fun in the holidays. Peace out. :)

Kia ora Jarrod and Katera

Thank you for the comment.

I'm kind of excited about the holidays because I can play on the Xbox and computer all day. I also don't want to go to the Holiday programme because I will leave my mates.

Hi again Room 6.
We made these haikus especially for you.

The glistening stars
The calls of the kereru
Captured by Darkness

Gigantic white waves
The big shhhh sound of the waves
Crashing against me

The long green jungle
The awkwardness of silence
The sun’s hurtful rays

Up and up I go
The long branches act as guards
The large leaves grasp me

My feet are aching
My ankles are seizing up
The sun does not help
